COMPETITION FOR FAMILY PHYSICIANS IS FIERCE

June Porter, chairperson of the joint physician recruitment and retention committee, has authored a white paper on a new governance structure that should make the committee more responsive and able to bring new doctors to the area.

Her recommendation to expand the range of members on the committee in order to engage the advice of health-care practitioners and experts, and “help guide the committee in its deliberations and recruitment of new family physicians,” was presented to Clearview Township council at its Jan. 10 meeting.
